ORIGINAL 26+2 YOGA - INFERNO HOT PILATES - YIN YOGA - POUND CLASS - BELLY DANCE

Original 26+2

Also referred to as Bikram Yoga, this sequence of 26 postures and 2 breathing exercises is practiced in a 105° room that has humidity set to 40%. Designed to move fresh oxygenated blood to every part of your entire body, the physical and mental benefits of practicing Bikram regularly abound, including:

-Increased flexibility
-Better sleep cycles
-Improved energy
-Strengthened mental focus and clarity
-Improved blood flow

​Inferno Hot Pilates

Inferno Hot Pilates is a high intensity interval training (HIIT) class utilizing the Pilates principle of control. Class is 60 minutes and is practiced at 95°, set to invigorating music to get you working HARD. It is a total body workout. Each class moves through a series of exercises designed to tone different parts of the body. We use the Tabatas style method of 8 sets of repetitions, with 20 seconds of activity and 10 seconds of rest. The strength work ensures you build muscle endurance. The Tabatas method is proven to create long lean muscle mass, fast. 

Practicing Inferno Hot Pilates in the heat helps boost your metabolism and adds a cardio aspect to the workout. It is high intensity but low impact, so no major stress is being put on your joints. The sweating is also great for your skin and increasing circulation. 

Hot Pilates is a great cross training option for runners, cyclists and those who love lifting weights at the gym. 


​Because of the excess post exercise oxygen consumption (EPOC, or afterburn) you continue to burn calories up to 48 hours after class, for a total of up to 500 calories obliterated from one class! Give it a try. You won’t be sorry!

Yin Yoga

Yin Yoga is a complementary yoga practice to the more dynamic yoga styles that are predominant today. Some call it the “other half of yoga.” 

In Yin Yoga, floor postures are held passively for several minutes in order to access a safe and positive ‘stress’ on the deep layers of connective tissue in the body. Since connective tissue includes all the fascia, muscles, tendons and ligaments that make up our body and are responsible for all movement, yin yoga is a whole body exercise - just not in the same way that more ‘yang’ styles or modalities of yoga are.

Physically, Yin Yoga restores and maintains the natural mobility of the joints, primarily between the navel and the knees. Energetically, Yin Yoga opens the body’s meridian system, which enhances the body’s energetic flow and supports emotional equilibrium.

As this practice emphasizes stillness and silence, Yin Yoga prepares both the body and the mind for deeper experiences in meditation.


HOW TO PREPARE FOR CLASS:

-Drink plenty of water in the 24 hours before class to ensure that you're properly hydrated. If you're coming for any class besides Yin, you will be sweating. A lot. And you'll LOVE IT.
-Bring a mat, a towel, and your water bottle.
- After class, be sure to continue hydrating and replenishing with electrolytes as needed. We stock electrolyte powders and coconut water and kombucha in the fridge for sale as well.

BREATHWORK AND MEDITATION CIRCLES
Join us on Sunday 12/6 and 12/13 from 12:30pm-1:30pm for these beautiful group meditation experiences. Led by Dan Larsen, these classes are offered for free to our community. Please bring a cushion or pillow and water.
